Sampling and authentication of metallurgical-grade fluorspar

In metallurgical production, proper amount of fluorspar is added to achieve a purging effect for the furnace. Generally, the fluorspar lumps are required to contain 85% or more CaF2. The higher the CaF2 content is, the better the purging effect is. Moreover, no exogenous impurities such as mud soil and waste stone are allowed to be mixed in metallurgical-grade fluorspar lumps. What’s more, the particle size is also very important, which directly influences the functioning of the calcium fluoride of the fluorspar. The range of 10-50mm or 10-30mm is generally the favorable range of particle size of metallurgical-grade fluorspar. YST have advanced processing equipment and a professional team, which ensures the smooth course from ore selection to processing.
The sampling of metallurgical-grade fluorspar is classified into two ways, i.e. sampling from bulk fluorspar and sampling from fluorspar packed in ton bags.
1. Sampling from bulk fluorspar and sample preparation shall conform to the provisions of National Standard GB/T 2008.
2. As to sampling from fluorspar packed in ton bags, 10% of ton bags of each batch (or as otherwise agreed by both parties) are taken as sampling ton bags. Sample of no less than 0.02% net weight in each sampling ton bag is taken out. Put all the samples taken from sampling ton bags together and fully mix them, then reduce it to 200g via sample quartering method. The obtained sample is divided into two parts, one for analysis and one for retention for more than 6 months.
YST can accept third-party inspection companies for fluorspar sampling. We have professional technicians to assist in sampling from bulk fluorspar and from fluorspar packed in ton bags. Meanwhile, we have professional equipment such as weighing scale, forklift, loader and crane to ensure the professionalism and timeliness of the inspection process.
